The decision might be an easy one to make as decent accommodation at reasonable prcie at this late stage will be extremely scarce. Having said that, you cannot go wrong with any island. Save. Welcome to Croatian forum Paul. Forget trains in Croatia. There are no train lines along the coast at all. All lines are between Zagreb and other places. Plus, they are not the best way to travel in Croatia. Busses are much better. It was amazing. We had 38 people on the boat. Spend the afternoon checking out the town and dinner. Day 2 - Early water taxi to Dubrovnik and walk the walls, have lunch, and explore a bit more in the town. Sleep in Cavtat. I'd try to go in May for fewer people, though peak season is July and August. Sone coastal towns start gearing up a bit in May but definitely not crowded. Plus May is sublimely lush and beautiful.
