When you engage reverse, press and hold the RAB icon on the screen for a couple of seconds to temporarily disable it. I see. This is a self-preservation mechanism, in case the reason the Check Engine Light is on can harm or effect the RAB or eyesight systems. Once the RAB is triggered or disabled, it will stay disabled on the screen. If the system was triggered normally (brakes kicked in) then when you put it in drive, the system should reset. The car was running fine for half a week, then after driving about 10 miles, sitting at idle, suddenly the car began to buck and vibrate, check engine light on, etc - it could only limp home (only 2 blocks thank goodness).Check engine light is on, eyesight and RAB are disabled and the x-mode light is blinking. 800 miles, 2 weeks old. Check your gas cap. Take it off, then tighten it all the way back on, then drive for a bit and see if it turns off.
